This is how it begins
Closeness and heavy breathing as I taste your whispers
And my lips form their silent reply on your neck.
My fingertips graze familiar figures
And I stare with eyes hungrier than my hands.
I want to memorise this moment.
I want to remember exactly how the light caught you
And kept you its handsome prisoner,
Rolling over the contours of your shape beside mine,
Revelling in the hills and valleys of this new familiar territory.
I want to remember exactly how you felt,
As I traced a map of you
And the constellations of my universe,
Painted on the flawless canvass it defines.
I want to remember you from a thousand different perspectives,
In a thousand different identical memories
I want to keep this moment and live it forever.
And as the next moment lolls sleepily round
I cup its fragile shape in my hands
And savour it,
Before it joins my most precious collection.
I watch the way your hair moves as my breath brushes through it,
A subtle proof of reality.
I smile as you watch me watch you
And with fistfuls of lion's mane I pull you even closer,
Silently begging to be yours.
Owned by my dearest possession.
So close I can feel the warmth emanating from your body
And it holds me enveloped,
Like your soft, strong arms.
To be permitted this close to something of such value,
To be allowed to look with my hands and feel with my heart,
To be able to explore this object in as much detail as I am capable of,
I can't describe it.
Entwined in every sense,
I feel special,
As if by proxy I am everything I aspire to.
Wrestling with time I push back the inexorable
To live in my one instant of forever,
Wishing for only the simple pleasure of intimacy.
As the seconds run on like honey
I savour the sweet taste of every one,
Drenched in this beautiful situation.
Closeness and heavy breathing as I taste your whispers
And my lips form their silent reply on your neck.
This is how it never ends.
